Your Own Pearl Charm Builder
Pearls | Charm Holders | Custom Layering

The Pearl Charm Builder collection is jewelry you put together in stages, not something you buy finished off a shelf. Every strand is hand-knotted with natural pearls, and from there, the piece is yours to design: pick your pearl, pick your knot color, add a charm holder, then layer in the charms that make it personal.
Whether you're starting with the necklace or the bracelet, the building process works the same way, and no two finished pieces end up looking alike.
Step One
Choose Your Pearl Strand
The strand is the foundation, and it comes in two sizes. The difference is more than just pearl size, it changes how the piece sits and how it layers.

Mini Knotted Natural Pearl Necklace Builder (3.5-4mm): $250
The smaller pearl, worn longer at 20 inches. A more delicate scale that sits lower on the neck, which makes it an easy base layer under other necklaces or the enhancer of your choice.
Knotted Natural Pearl Necklace Builder (4.5-5mm): $350
The larger pearl, worn shorter at 18 inches. Sits higher and closer to the collarbone, so each pearl reads with a little more presence.
Both strands are hand-knotted with natural pearls and finished with 14k yellow gold findings, and both come in four thread colors. The knot color you pick, showing between each pearl, changes the whole feel of the piece.
Ivory Thread
Classic and clean, letting the pearls lead.
Navy Thread
A bit of contrast between every knot.
Chocolate Brown Thread
Warms the whole strand up.
Green Thread
A little unexpected edge.
One detail worth knowing before you build: the pearl strand on its own doesn't have a clasp. You'll need to pair it with an enhancer to wear it, which brings us to step two.
Step Two
Choose Your Charm Holder
The charm holder is what connects and completes your strand. It's a required piece for the necklace builders since the strand doesn't come with its own clasp, and it doubles as the place where your charms and pendants will live.

Charm holders come in a range of styles, from a simple round enhancer to a diamond-set version for more sparkle. Shop the option that fits your strand and your style, and once it's attached, your necklace is ready to wear on its own, or ready for step three.
The Bracelet
Mini Knotted Pearl Charm Bracelet (3.5-4mm): $165
The bracelet works a little differently. It's strung on navy thread with 3.5-4mm natural pearls and finished with a 14k yellow gold spring clasp, and that clasp already doubles as a charm holder, so there's no separate enhancer to buy. It's ready to wear straight out of the box at 6.5 inches, with additional lengths available by request.

Step Three
Make It Personal With Charms
This is where the piece becomes yours. Clip on a single charm for something simple and everyday, or build up a fully loaded charm holder that tells more of a story. Birthstones, initials, symbols, a shell from a favorite trip, all of it works. Because every step before this is customizable too, the charms are really just the last layer on a piece nobody else has.

How to Wear It
The two necklace sizes were built to layer together. Wear the 20 inch mini strand lower and the 18 inch strand higher, each with its own charm holder, for a stacked pearl look with two different textures.
On the wrist, stack the pearl charm bracelet with your other gold pieces, chain, pave, or another pearl strand in a different thread color. Mixing knot colors across pieces is part of the design, not something to match too carefully.

Questions About Building Your Pearl Piece
What's the actual difference between the two necklace sizes?
The 3.5-4mm strand has smaller pearls and is longer at 20 inches. The 4.5-5mm strand has larger pearls and is shorter at 18 inches. Many people build both to layer.
Do I need to buy a charm holder to wear the necklace?
Yes. The pearl strand itself doesn't include a clasp, so a charm holder is required to complete and wear the piece.
Is the bracelet ready to wear right away?
Yes. The bracelet's gold clasp already doubles as a charm holder, so it's ready to wear as soon as it arrives, with the option to add charms whenever you'd like.
Can I mix thread colors across pieces?
Yes, and it's part of the design. Ivory, navy, chocolate brown, and green all layer well together for a more collected look.
Do I have to wait to build my piece?
No. Pearl strands, charm holders, and charms are in stock and ready to build in the atelier or online, so you can put your piece together and start wearing it right away.

Building a pearl piece one step at a time is my favorite kind of jewelry to make. Come see the strands and charm holders in person at the atelier, and we'll help you put it together.
