I’m Katie Miller, founder and designer of Mama Bijoux.
I didn’t grow up in a jewelry studio. I spent years building a career in consumer packaged goods — learning how to build brands, understand customers, and create things that people genuinely wanted. Then life changed. Motherhood arrived. And with it, a clarity I hadn’t expected.
I wanted to make something with my hands. Something that couldn’t be found on a shelf or replicated at scale. I wanted to design jewelry.
I trained in the craft — learning what it means to work with precious metals and stones at a level where every decision is intentional. Mama Bijoux was born in California, and it belongs here. This is where my life is, where my clients are, and where I do my best work.
Mama Bijoux is a Newport Beach fine jewelry atelier, located at 234 E 17th St #203 in Costa Mesa. Everything happens here: the consultation, the design sessions, the final reveal. It’s a studio, not a showroom — intimate by design, nothing like a chain.
Newport Beach light does something to gold. It makes it look alive. That’s not a coincidence — it’s part of why I’m here.
Everything I create at Mama Bijoux is custom, made to order, and designed around the specific person who will wear it. That means real conversations. Real design choices. Real stones and metals that will last long after the occasion that inspired them.
I specialize in custom fine jewelry for engagement rings, push presents, birthstone pieces, anniversary gifts, and jewelry redesigns from inherited pieces that deserve a new life. The stone choice is personal; the setting has to last. I approach every piece as if it will become an heirloom. Because most of them do.
The name comes from motherhood — the force that pushed me toward what I actually wanted to do. But Mama Bijoux has always been bigger than one story. It’s for anyone who wants jewelry that means something. Jewelry that doesn’t look like everyone else’s. Jewelry that will still be beautiful in 40 years when someone else is wearing it.
