Custom jewelry design is the heart of Mama Bijoux. Before we were a Costa Mesa storefront, we were a custom jewelry atelier, and custom design remains the core of everything we build. Katie Miller is a third generation jeweler, trained in a family of goldsmiths and taught to treat every custom engagement ring, custom necklace, and custom bracelet as a piece meant to last for generations. The Custom Process
I
Tell Us Your Vision
Fill out an interest form letting us know what you'd like to do. Tell us about your vision and send us any inspiration photos you might have. Once we get this, we'll look over your project and reach out to set up an in-person appointment to talk in more detail.

The Design Appointment
You'll sit down with Katie and talk through your vision. She will work collaboratively with you to come up with a design that you love and fits your budget. If this is a rework project, be sure to bring the pieces we'll be working with.

Deposit and 3D Design
Love your design and ready to go? Provide a deposit, approximately half of the total project cost, and we'll get started. Katie will keep you updated every step of the way, provide 3D images for approval, and make sure your new jewelry turns out just as you envisioned it.
IV
The Reveal
We'll reach out as soon as your custom project is complete. Pay the remaining balance and enjoy your new heirloom piece for years to come.

Common Questions
How Much Does Custom Cost?
All custom projects will differ depending on design direction. We will work with you to get you your dream piece within your budget. All custom orders are final sale. A 50% deposit is required to confirm production. Any monies used in the design process will be forfeited should the customer wish to cancel an order already in process. Due to the custom nature of every piece, returns or exchanges are not accepted. However, we are a small business whose goal is for you to be 100% happy with your jewelry. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of a custom piece, we will make every effort to remake or fix at a discounted rate. Price estimates are estimates only, and final cost will be determined by gold and diamond price at the time of casting. Gold and diamond prices fluctuate daily.
How Long Does the Custom Process Take?
Depending on your project, you can expect the custom timeline to be about 4 to 6 weeks.
I Have Jewelry I Want to Redesign. Can I Use Those Stones?
Yes. We love working with existing jewelry and transforming it into a piece that feels authentic to you. Please bring any pieces you are interested in reworking to your custom appointment.
Can I Bring My Own Stone?
Yes. We can set any stone for you. Bring in your own stone and we will design something custom around it, built entirely to your vision.
How Will I Know What My Custom Piece Will Look Like Before It Is Finished?
Tell us your vision and we will sit down and land on your dream design. During the custom process, we can create and send you a 3D rendering of your piece so you can see exactly what it will look like once it's finished.
I Don't Live Locally. Can I Still Create a Custom Piece?
Absolutely. We work with clients all over the world. Our custom design process is seamless virtually. We'll connect through video consultations, share updates, and ship your finished piece safely to you, wherever you may be.
Do You Offer Engraving?
Yes. We offer engraving on our pieces for a $35 fee. Whether it's initials, a date, or a meaningful word, it's a beautiful way to add a personal touch.
